FOR ELEVATORS
1. Requests to owners (Preventive measures against coronavirus transmission)
Owners’ proactive measures to keeping distance between users can reduce risks of the spread of viruses including Coronavirus COVID-19. Owners should take the following preventive measures as required.

Prevent close contact among elevator users by for example promoting staggered work shifts.

Guide users to keep distance by marking the car and hall floors to show them where to stand.
2. Instructions to be given by owners to elevator users (Preventive measures against coronavirus transmission)
Instructing how to use elevators from owners to elevator users can reduce risks of the spread of viruses including COVID-19. Owners should give the following instructions to elevator users for implementing the measures.

Avoid riding a crowded car.

Keep distance from others in a hall and car as much as you can.

Refrain from talking in a car.

Avoid touching the car walls and ceiling.

After touching buttons, handrails, etc., avoid touching your face, especially around the mouth, and wash your hands with soap and running water, or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
3. Use of sodium hypochlorite (or bleach) or ethanol (ethyl alcohol) (Preventive measures against coronavirus transmission)
If sodium hypochlorite (or bleach) or ethanol (ethyl alcohol) is used, the surface of plastic components such as buttons may crack, become less bright or go cloudy.
If it is necessary to use the solution for cleaning, observe the following:
1. Prepare either of the following solutions:
(a) Solution made by mixing 10 ml of chlorine bleach into 500 ml of water (The concentration of undiluted sodium hypochlorite solution is about 5% to 6%).
(b) Ethanol for disinfection (Commercially available ethanol for disinfection or absolute ethanol diluted to approximately 70% to 80% with water)
2. Absorb the solution in (1) above into a paper towel and wipe the surface with it in one direction. Then, wipe the surface with a well-wrung damp cloth to remove the solution. When working, wear a mask and gloves as necessary.
3. Do not use a spray to apply the solution to prevent the solution from dripping. If the solution adheres to other resin (plastic) components or internal electronic components, equipment failure may occur.

2. Instructions to be given by owners to escalator users (Preventive measures against coronavirus transmission)
Instructing how to use escalators from owners to escalator users can reduce risks of the spread of viruses including COVID-19. Owners should give the following instructions to escalator users for implementing the measures.

Keep distance from others as much as you can when using an escalator.

Refrain from talking in a close proximity.

After touching handrails, avoid touching your face, especially around the mouth, and wash your hands with soap and running water, or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

If sodium hypochlorite (or bleach) or ethanol (ethyl alcohol) is used, the handrails may deteriorate (swell, harden, crack, become less bright or discolor).
If it is necessary to use the solution for cleaning, observe the following:
