For specific products such as elevators, escalators, every customer, every project has different request which should be made and monitored from the beginning to the end quickly, accurately and reliably. At VMEC, we set SE departments (Sales Engineer) separatedly to be in charge of the technical requirements of customers, analysts and consultants for optimum solutions of each project from drawing to execution.
The process of SE deparment (Sales Engineer) include:
1. Receive request from sales department.
2. Research preliminary requirements, preliminarily advice about appropriate elevators, according to the initial criteria: weight, speed, project size, expected functions of project ... supplied by customer.
3. Consult about technical specification.
4. Send clients consultant document and preliminary quotation.
5. Through the customers approval for the consultant document and preliminary quotation, SE continues to get architectural drawings supplied by customers.
6. Analyze the architectural drawings.
7. Send engineers to survey at project site to confirm the most accurate information.
8. Combine architectural drawings and actual survey information, SE prepares contract drawings.
9. Work with the customers to confirm the necessary adjustments and amendments.
10. Send complete drawings. Once the customer agrees, approves and agrees to sign the contract, SE will send purchase order to the factory.
The transaction and works in this phase is extremely important because it decides the size and necessary properties for the project to be implemented, to meet customer requirements. Therefore, it requires high accuracy and technical profession, understanding of product as well as the criteria and regulations of the factory and the corporate. Also, it requires knowledge and basic skills of the whole team, as well as improvement in making drawings, rapid thinking in analyzing the complex technical factors and knowledge in construction.
During the designing and consulting process, SE holds an important role as a bridge between customers demanding and realistic capability of producers, works directly with factory to confirm the products can meet complicated design requirements, often out of basic technical standards of catalog. It is the duty and necessary step for SE to ensure contract’s agreement and response in the final drawings is reasonable, feasible and providing maximum benefits to the customers.

Moreover, to support the survey at site, we are also fully equipped with specialized equipment, and trained to use and apply equipment in practice.
About training courses to improve product knowledge, technology and application:
Annually, VMEC’s SE staff training is held 2 times a year, with diversified tranining program for new engineers, expert engineers. Together with internal training, VMEC regularly sends staff to participate in professional abroad training at the elevator training center of Mitsubishi Elevator Singapore SEEC.
To new SE staff or sales staff, SE department is primarily responsible for training, from basic to advanced, and organize appraisal courses after training by the random check online program, help students to learn, to build up knowledge in the fastest time.
Responsibility of SE department before and after implementation:
SE with specialized technical department (Technical) and related divisions: Installation, Maintenance works closely, regularly exchanges information regarding customers demaning, projects status, product lines... to ensure: always update the latest, the most accurate information about machine series, advanced features and regulation of ordering to provide right information to customer; supervise the status of projects to rapidly support, analysis, particularly in the actual construction process; systematically accumulate project’s development and higher requirements from time to time in order to quickly provide the optimum solution for customers.
