ACKNOWLEDGE THE IMPORTANCE OF MAINTENANCE

Under the perspective of the urban modernization, development of civilization and technology, elevators and escalators are increasingly cared for and strictly evaluated rightly at  quality, safety, reliability in lifetime and continuously improve the abilities to meet the higher international standards. To ensure three criteria: quality of service, high safety, long lifetime, we need to maintain warranty, maintenance service as standard maintenance.
 
  • Each machine is composed of complex devices with closely related and mutual support, influence in the operation of the whole system. There are devices easy to see, but also ones invisible from the outside. After being used for a time, they wear out and if we do not detect early, damage is unpredicted. Without maintenance activities and machines remain in poor condition, elevators and escalators’ lifetime will be shortened, they get damaged and lead to more and more expensive repair costs after all. More serious problems can occur if the elevator stops suddenly and passengers are trapped and got panic.

  • The density of use, traffic flow in building that have elevators, escalators often change over time depending on actual needs. This has 2 meanings: (a). When the density of use is always high, equipment operating at full capacity and they will quickly wear out, and they are in need of maintenance to restore the best state. (b). When the density of practical use increases more than the estimation of the investors in the initial installation period, equipment operates harder than allowed capacity, they will need to be checked by maintenance team to find out better solutions.

  • When problems occurs, devices are not always replaced simultaneously but in fact, maintenance services will test, calculate accurately operation status and remaining lifetime and counsel which equipments and materials need replacement most. Thus, the overall situation is that new equipment and old equipment must be synchronous for smooth operation. The maintenance’s meaning is to supply spare parts with correct lines to build up a reliability in a synchronous operation system. In the long term, thanks to the high compatibility of the devices in operation, they help increasing the efficiency of the entire system. Otherwise, using an improper spare is just a temporary solution to save the budget, but over time, it will cause major damage or reduce the lifetime of other equipment and cost much more.
