Melco Elevator Vietnam Co., Ltd. (abbreviated name: VMEC) was approved for establishment by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City under the Investment License No.411022000216 on 27th March 2008 - a joint-venture company between the Vietnamese party Toan Tam Engineering Co.,Ltd, and Japanese parties including Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsubishi Electric Building Techno-Service Co., Ltd. and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.
Mitsubishi elevators & escalators have gained interest and highly-recognized by many customers in Vietnam. As of the year 2007, more than 2000 units of Mitsubishi elevators & escalators have been supplied and installed in Vietnam. Only for the year 2007, the total number of supplied & installed elevators, escalators has reached more than 600 units, and this figure is forecasted to increase sharply in subsequent years. Therefore, the establishment of VMEC is an inevitable response to the increasing demand of Vietnam's market.
